SOLICITOR - Defect / Handover Report

Acting on behalf of a purchaser? Make an informed decision with BeSafe

Why do they need a Defect/Handover Report?

BeSafe inspectors have a minimum 10 years of experience in the Building Industry and are Registered Building Practitioners, qualifying them to expertly assess whether construction work is substandard and identify if a building contract has been breached. In the case of a defect dispute with a builder or supervisor during construction, our BeSafe reports will provide you with comprehensive details, accompanied by digital photos.

Our BeSafe Defect/Handover Reports may include:

  • Details of unsuitable new materials and poor tradesmanship
  • Breaches of the Australian Consumer Law
  • Breaches of statutory warranties contained in building legislation
  • Liability for negligence or misrepresentation

Your last chance inspection:

A Pre-Handover Inspection is the last chance to check if your new home’s workmanship is up to scratch. This stage in your contract is the most important, as you still have the power to get any defects fixed before handing over the final payment.

When will my client’s report be ready?

Post-inspection, it will take 24 to 48 hours to finalise their detailed report, including accompanying photos of any problem areas on the property.
